The Department of Energy announced a $26.5 billion loan package supporting new power generation and grid upgrades across Georgia and Alabama. The projects include natural gas, nuclear updates, hydropower modernization, battery storage, and more than 1,300 miles of transmission improvements. Large-scale energy infrastructure like these projects create real opportunities for UA members while strengthening the power systems American communities rely on. The UA will always work with presidential administrations - no matter which party is in control - to ensure the future of American energy is union-built. We will continue to advocate for our membership and make sure funding packages include strong labor protections throughout.
