Several UA-endorsed candidates delivered strong results in last week’s primary elections. In California, Xavier Becerra advanced in the governor’s race, while San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan secured a spot in the runoff to succeed former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In Iowa, Rob Sand officially became the Democratic nominee for governor. These results demonstrate the importance of continued engagement by UA local unions and the UA Department of Legislative and Political Affairs in supporting candidates who understand the value of energy infrastructure, apprenticeship programs, and policies that create work opportunities for UA members.
