UA Statement on Midterm Election Results

United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) General President issued the following statement after Tuesday’s historic midterm election results:

Americans sent their elected officials a loud and clear message at the polls on Tuesday: the status quo isn’t working. Skyrocketing energy costs and partisan games led to the biggest loss for a party in power in generations – and the American people are ready for change. Our union members across the country led the charge for a better future, voting overwhelmingly to end forever wars, bring down the costs of gas, diesel, and grocery prices, and to send some commonsense checks and balances back to Washington.

We look forward to working with the new Congress to make life more affordable for all and to give all Americans a fair shot at success. It is time to get serious and get to work delivering for the hardworking Americans who have been left behind the past two years. I urge this Congress to listen to your constituents – our members – who want to see an economic agenda that creates jobs and lowers costs across the board. That is your mandate.
