  • UA Backs Nick LaLota for Congress in New York

    Oct 28, 2026

In the House of Representatives, Congressman Nick LaLota has been a steady ally for the United Association and our members. He is a member of the Bipartisan Building Trades Caucus, who works across the aisle to put working families like ours first. LaLota is a proud U.S. Navy veteran, and he is a strong champion of the UA’s Veterans in Piping program as he fights to create more opportunities for service members to find meaningful civilian careers. When the Trump administration got rid of collective bargaining rights for UA metal trades members working at federal shipyards, Nick LaLota voted to restore those rights.

Congressman LaLota will continue to fight to strengthen our gold-standard registered apprenticeship program, and he is a proven fighter for project labor agreements. LaLota backed up his strong track record when he voted across the aisle to preserve energy tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act that are putting UA members to work. That’s why the UA is supporting Nick LaLota for Congress.
