Over this election cycle, the UA has been on the air in battleground states with independent expenditure campaigns supporting strong UA allies on both sides of the aisle. For example, in Pennsylvania, the UA is on the air seeking to defeat Congressman Scott Perry, one of the most anti-union politicians in the country. While this race is a true toss-up, this is our best chance in years to send him packing thanks to the efforts of the UA and the Pennsylvania Pipe Trades. We now have a real shot at defeating someone who every year introduces legislation to ban Davis-Bacon and PLAs nationwide, and who supports a national Right-to-Work law.
All of these races are considered critical, with an outsized impact on how Washington, D.C., and governors across the country will shape policy essential to our membership. From Iowa to New Jersey to Ohio, the UA is on the airwaves proactively fighting for those who fight for us. As a complement to our nationwide member to member campaign, these efforts seek to persuade the general public and grow the UA’s political power – and they feature UA members from Iowa and Ohio, including Justin Wunderlich and Matt Taylor. Great job, Brothers.
